This gorgeous handmade bread basket is the perfect finishing touch to your table. It is a versatile piece to serve bread or use as a decoration in your home. This piece is handcrafted in Jaén Andalusia, by those great artisans. Spaniards will remember seeing them sitting at the door of their Andalusian white houses with colourful geraniums in their front windows, making these baskets. They carefully braided and hours later a basket, a donkey head or a woven plant pot would be created and finished.
Here in Spain, braiding palm leaves is one of the most traditional and oldest trades in our culture, but it's getting harder to find artisans who still work with this material. They are able to create amazing baskets, animal heads, mats, bags... anything you can think of.
