These delicious sour, yet sweet orange segment sweets will remind spaniards of their childhood, taking them back to growing up in the 70s and 80s in Spain. You can still enjoy and share this delight just like you would have done in your childhood! This sweet treat is a fabulous gift for any celebration or birthday!
The sweet makers, Mauri, started to produce artisan sweeties from 1903 until well into the 1960s, when this well known delicacy was taken over by Lacasa, who continued to produce these segments until 2014. After a few years when these candies stopped being produced, the Spanish company, Gerio took over. Gerio was made up of a group of confectioners from Girona, who started to produce nougat, sweets and sugar coated fruit after the civil war.
