Espadrilles have been a classic of Spanish summers since before our great-great-grandparents. So much so that the Castellón artisans who handcraft these espadrilles boast of following a tradition that began in 1691. No small feat!
This model with straps and a laced back is called Vigatana due to its supposed origin in Vic, but it's also typical of northern Barcelona, Girona, and even southern France. And to top it off, it was Dalí's favorite shoe.
