They are pioneers in the idea of keeping the cap attached to the bottle. Beyond their decorative use, for decades families have used them to store homemade beverages, because their mechanical porcelain cap seals hermetically and preserves the carbonation and freshness of liquids and ferments.
This work reflects the rich tradition of Galician basket makers, artisans dedicated to creating decorative and practical pieces by braiding natural fibers. This time, the weaving was done by a young basket maker from Pontevedra, who masterfully continues this artisanal legacy.
