Siurells Nativity Roses

Typical of the crafts of Mallorca, these siurell nativity scenes are made in clay by artisans by women, who then bathe them in lime and paint them with colored stripes.

They are made in Marratxí, in the heart of the terra del fang , an area to which most of the potters moved due to the quality of the land in the area. There, our artisans have been modeling siurells for more than 100 years, following the tradition that passes from grandmothers to mothers and, finally, to daughters.
