What exactly are Ibizan sandals?
They are a type of summer sandal with an esparto or jute sole and ribbons to tie around the ankle. At Real Fábrica, they are inspired by the tradition of Mediterranean espadrilles.
Are they the same as espadrilles?
Not exactly.
Espadrilles are usually closed, while these are more open and designed for greater ventilation.
Are they comfortable for walking?
Yes. They are light, fresh, and adapt to the foot thanks to the ribbons.
How do you tie them?
The ribbons wrap around the ankle and are adjusted to your comfort.
Can they get wet?
It's not ideal. Since they are made of natural fibers, it's best to avoid water to extend their life.
What is the difference between these and Menorcan abarcas?
Abarcas are made of leather and are more structured.
Ibizan sandals are lighter, more open, and have an esparto sole.

There's no need to explain them much. You put them on... and you're already a little bit on vacation.
