Balea selects only the very best mussels to offer a premium quality product. In Spain we have a great tradition with fish preserves, which are still made almost a 100% manually. The fish is as fresh as it gets, then taken to the fabric where the employees (mostly women), clean it, fry it with this amazing sauce and put them into the cans by hand.
This company was founded in 1915, when the Italian Pedro Montemerlo moved to Cangas de Morrazo in Pontevedra and discovered the great quality of Galician fish.
