Dos Cafeteras - Peppermint Sweets
These tasty coffee sweets infused with mint are the perfect unique gift for those who love sweets and the freshness of mint!
Around the year 1886, at number 11 'Calle de la Zapatería' in Pamplona (Navarre, northern Spain), Don Claudio Lozano came up with the idea of mixing together milk, sugar, glucose and coffee in a copper saucepan over a fire.
His family and then neighbours started to smell the aromas of his sweets, and they became eager to have a taste of the delicacy that he made in the kitchen in his home. After that, being entrepreneurial and enthusiastic about his new invention, he decided to sell his sweets. To create the sweets he formed a line of this sugary paste, and cut as much as the client asked for.
In 1912, after having great success with his sweets, he decided to name them, and that's how 'Pastillas de café con leche Dos Cafeteras' (Dos cafeteras late coffee sweets) came about.
